H.G. Krishna Swarup (Ramswarup Upadhyay Pokhrel) Prabhu is a disciple of H.H. Hridayananda das Goswami. Prabhu was born in Nepal in 1969 but grew up in Assam, India and lived there until he was 12 years old. Prabhu joined ISKCON movement after he was honored with a degree of (Shastri) the ‘Bachelor in Sanskrit’ from Rastriya Sanskrit Samsthan, New Delhi in 1990 and soon after HH Gopal Krishna Maharaj sent him to be a Gurukul teacher at ISKCON Chandigarh. Prabhu's field of teaching is Niti-Shastra, Vedic Shastra, Vedic history, Harinamamrita Vyakaranam, Sanskrit, Hindi, and Vaishnava Etiquette. In 1993 prabhu moved to Mayapur and for 5 years taught Sanskrit in Bhaktivedanta Academy Gurukula and some translation work under a good care and kind direction of HH Bhakti Vidya Purna Swami.
Krishna Svarup Prabhu can speak, read and write several languages such as: Nepali, Sanskrit, Bengali, Hindi, English, and Assamese. The same year, prabhu received both initiations from HH Hridayananda Dasa Goswami Maharaj. is a very expert brahmana, scripture and fire ceremonies. Prabhu has a devotee family with his wife and two boys and a daughter educated as real vaishnavas. H.H. Hridayananda Dasa Goswami maharaj asked prabhu to come to USA and help him to complete his project of translating authentic version of Mahabharata. Prabhu served ISKCON in Alachua for 12 years as a priest serving devotees and Indian community with Sesa prabhu, Tamohara prabhu, and Mukhya mataji (Alachua TP). While in USA prabhu traveled throughout US and other countries as Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Mexico and Nepal delivering discourses on Srimad Bhagavatam in Hindi, English and Nepali languages. Prabhu is now serving in Mayapur dham and humbly pray at the lotus feet of The Lordships Sri Sri Raha-Madhava, Pancatattva, Nrisimhadeva and Srila Prabhupada to engage him in some service that he is capable to perform.
