Prabodhananda Sarasvati Swami

His Holiness Prabodhananda Saraswati Swami Maharaj appeared in this world on the sacred day of Krishna Paksha Dwadashi in the month of Kartik (1957) in Remuna, Balasore, Odisha, India—a spiritually significant place forever sanctified by the pastimes of Lord Kheerchor Gopinath.

In 1984, Maharaj joined the ISKCON Vrindavan temple as a humble brahmachari, dedicating his life to the divine mission of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. The following year, he received first initiation from his beloved spiritual master, His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, and within six months was also awarded brahminical initiation, recognizing his sincere and disciplined spiritual practice.

Demonstrating unwavering commitment to the path of renunciation, Maharaj accepted the sannyasa order in 2008 on the auspicious day of Papamochani Ekadashi, becoming the first sannyasi disciple of His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj. In 2024, Following the instruction of HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, he humbly took on the service of being a guru on the holy day of Shayani Ekadashi, inspiring and guiding devotees on their spiritual journey.

For decades, Maharaj has rendered invaluable service to the ISKCON movement. He led the Sankirtan Department, organizing and inspiring numerous book distribution parties with great zeal. As the Director of the New Bhakta Training Department for five years, he helped nurture and guide countless newcomers to Krishna consciousness.

Maharaj has traveled and preached extensively across India, especially in regions such as Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Odisha (including Rourkela), as well as in the United States, United Kingdom (including Scotland, Wales, England, and Ireland), and East Africa (including Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda), uplifting thousands through his spiritual wisdom and heartfelt preaching.Maharaj stands as one of ISKCON Vrindavan’s most senior and steadfast servants. His illuminating discourses on the appearance and disappearance days of Vaishnava acharyas are a testament to his profound scholarship and deep absorption in Gaudiya Vaishnava literature, especially Chaitanya Bhagavata and other core scriptures. His unwavering dedication and spiritual depth continue to inspire generations of devotees.

Known for his soulful singing of Vaishnava bhajans, Maharaj touches hearts with his deep feeling and devotion. His kirtans, imbued with genuine spiritual emotion, draw devotees into the presence of the Lord.
