Gour Gopal Das Adhikari

HG Gour Gopal Das Adhikari was born and brought up in a Vaishnava family on the border of Orissa and Bengal in 1976. Since both of his parents were disciples of HH Jaya Pataka Swami he got the opportunity to serve senior ISKCON devotees, Sannyasis, and Brahmacaris right from his childhood. Later as he grew, he served as a Brahmacari in ISKCON Secunderabad temple. He is a disciple of HH Bhakti Raghava Swami. His fascination for village attracted him to rural preaching- not much worked upon area. He is a member of SVC (Sustainable Vaishnava Committee) in SPN.

He was an active participant in Sri Govind Gau Gram Prachar Yatra, an ISKCON Daiva Varanasrama Ministry-India’s initiative. It covered 108 villages and preached with a special focus on Krishna (spreading Holy Name), land (promoting chemical free organic farming using bulls) and gomata (protecting Mother Cow by using panchgavya products etc.).

Being a gifted musician, he preaches love for the Holy Name of the Supreme Lord and instructions of Srila Prabhupada to the people through his melodious voice. He introduced the concept of Akhanda Harinam Sankirtan in the twin city and hence forth conducted several Akhanda Harinams.

Gour Gopal prabhu loves to serve gomata and has a cow named Surabhi, whom he personally serves at his simple house in the city. He has been running a devotee congregation called Govardhan for more than a decade, also he has been preaching in the rural pockets and running a similar congregations there for a few years as a follow-up to Sri Govind Gau Gram Prachar Yatra. Besides these regular weekly programs in both the areas, he has conducted more than 300 public Satsanga programs in the last three years in different states of Telangana, Andhra, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand etc.
